SkiBig3 Tubing: Get Your Tube On!

If Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory were Banff National Park, the Golden Ticket would be your SkiBig3 Lift Ticket. It gives you access to all three ski resorts in Banff National Park, discounts at the best local eats, treats and activities, and complimentary tubing at Mt. Norquay - home to the longest & fastest tubing lanes in the Alberta!

Tubing is also available at the Lake Louise Ski Resort, however, is not included with a SkiBig3 Lift Ticket.

Tubing Discounts

Tubing is free for SkiBig3 Lift Ticket Holders at Mt. Norquay, day and night. If you have scanned at one of the three resorts - Banff Sunshine, Lake Louise Ski Resort, or Mt. Norquay that same day, you can tube at Mt. Norquay for free. Slip, spin and slide down Alberta’s longest tube lanes.

When you scan your SkiBig3 Lift Ticket for tubing at Mt. Norquay, it counts as one of your lift ticket days, so we recommend pairing tubing with skiing or snowboarding on the same day for the best value.

Night Tubing

The fun keeps kicking on at Mt. Norquay, even after dark! Mt. Norquay runs night tubing sessions every Friday and Saturday night from 5-8PM. Night tubing sessions also run over the Family Day long weekend with additional sessions on Feb 15-16, 2026.

Under big lights, race your friends to the bottom and then jump on the magic carpet for a lift back up to the top so you can go again and again and again. If you skied or snowboarded at any SkiBig3 resort that day, night tubing is free!

Newby-friendly

First off – no experience is necessary to go tubing. Whether you’re a kid or a kid-at-heart, this is a thrilling activity for visitors of all ages. Little ones do have to be 4+ years old and over 42 inches (107cm) tall to ride and must be accompanied by an adult.

What to wear

Avoid potential tube deflation or a painful collision - you must wear regular winter boots, no ski boots, snowboard boots or crampons. For clothing, we recommend wearing what you would wear skiing or snowboarding. Think warm, waterproof ski pants and jackets, with gloves or mitts. Goggles and a buff or balaclava are great to keep the snow spray out of your eyes and off your face. There’s nothing worse than a glacial facial! Sunglasses have been known to fly off (especially if you're spinning super fast), so we recommend leaving them at the base.

Pro tip: attach your ticket to the bottom of your jacket or pants instead of at the top of your jacket, to prevent it from flying up in your face while tubing.

When to go

Tubing at Mt. Norquay is a popular activity and has a limited capacity. If you plan on tubing on the weekend or around peak season times (such as Christmas Holidays or Family Week), make sure that you arrive early as tubing is not guaranteed if the tube park is at capacity.

From Sundays – Thursdays, Mt. Norquay runs two tubing sessions. The morning session runs from 9AM – 12PM. The afternoon session runs from 1-4PM. On Friday, Saturday and some holidays they run an additional evening session from 5-8PM. Additional Family Day Long Weekend sessions are available from Feb 15 & 16, 2026.

Tube Etiquette

SkiBig3 tubing is a popular activity, and it can get busy at times. When there are more people than tubes, be kind and hop off the tubing lane as quickly as you can. This keeps things moving and gets you to your turn as quickly as possible.

FAQs

I didn’t ski today, but want to go tubing. Does that count as one of my ski days on my lift ticket?

Yes, it does. If you do not ski but scan your SkiBig3 Lift Ticket to go tubing on the same day, this counts as one of your ski days. We recommend pairing tubing with a day where you’ve skied already at any of SkiBig3’s resorts to get the most out of your pass.

I have booked my session. When should I get there?

You can arrive at any time during your session. Your ticket does not guarantee three hours of tubing at any time, it unlocks unlimited tubing within the 3-hour session. For example, if you book the 1-4pm afternoon session and arrive at 3:30PM, you will only have 30 minutes to go tubing.

Do I have to carry my tube or walk up the hill?

No! Mt. Norquay’s tube park features a magic carpet to carry you and your tube to the top!

How does it work for little kids?

Children must be over 4 years old and taller than 42inches to go tubing. Everyone has their own tube, meaning your child cannot sit on your lap. They must sit in their own tube, however you may still ride down in tandem with them at the same time. Connect tubes into groups of 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 to go down together.

Is there another waiver for tubing?

No, the waiver you signed for your SkiBig3 Lift Ticket includes tubing, meaning you do not have to sign another waiver.

How do I get there?

SkiBig3 offers a complimentary ski shuttle from most Banff hotels to Mt. Norquay. Once on the shuttle, stay on until P2/3 for the Tube Park. This is not the same as P1 which services the main lodge at the base.

From the base of the ski resort, take the Rundle Surface Lift ('F' on trail map) to reach the base of the tubing area ('G' on trail map). See trail map here

I have a season pass, is tubing included in that?

Most seasons passes do not include tubing, however some include discounts. See below:

SkiBig3 Season Pass – tubing is not included

Rocky Mountain Passport – tubing is not included

Ikon Pass – tubing is not included

Mountain Collective Pass – 1 session per pass holder is included

Why You Should Visit Banff and Lake Louise in March

March may mark the start of spring on the calendar, but in Banff National Park, it’s still very much winter. It’s a time when ski vacations in Banff and Lake Louise hit their sweet spot, offering reliable snow conditions, milder temperatures, and full access to the park’s world-class ski resorts, winter activities, and mountain experiences.
