Ski Ballet Lessons Coming to SkiBig3 This Spring

For Immediate Release

April 1, 2026

Banff Alberta - SkiBig3 is thrilled to welcome Anna Pirouette to the SkiBig3 Snow School as the official Head Ski Ballet Instructor. Our newest on-snow experience, ski ballet lessons merge elegance, expression, and alpine adventure under the watchful eye of qualified professionals.

At SkiBig3, we’re always looking for new ways to elevate the mountain experience. With Mt. Norquay celebrating 100 years this season, reviving ski ballet felt like a natural next step. A showstopper of the 1988 Calgary Olympics, ski ballet perfectly captures the growing interest in playful, style-focused skiing we’ve seen this Spring. After years out of the spotlight, SkiBig3 is pleased to welcome ski ballet back in a triumphant return. And there’s no better place for its revival than right here in the Canadian Rockies.

This unique offering expands the spring skiing experience, making the most of longer days, soft turns, and sun-soaked après sessions. Across Banff Sunshine, Lake Louise, and Mt. Norquay, spring conditions provide the perfect canvas for artistic expression.

Anna is a world-class ski ballet instructor with decades of competitive experience. Trained in both classical ballet and competitive mogul skiing, she seamlessly blends power and grace. Her routines have been described as “confusing, yet moving,” and she’s best known for her emotional interpretations of alpine terrain, especially her signature move, The Maple Leaf Sequence

Ski ballet lessons will be offered across all three SkiBig3 resorts this spring, with sessions designed for every level of skier. Beginner classes focus on finding rhythm and mastering the basics of gliding and flow. Intermediate students will link turns into choreography and begin developing a signature style. Advanced lessons push the limits with spins, transitions, infamous ski pole flips and full performance runs.

During your lesson, expect expert instruction on balance, timing, and expression from Anna herself. Each session features curated on-slope playlists to inspire your routine, all within a welcoming, high-energy environment where creativity takes center stage.

While standard ski attire is perfectly acceptable, guests are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the sport. Retro neon, bold patterns, and tutus over ski pants are all welcome. Shorter skis are recommended for optimal spin radius and maneuverability, while traditional longer poles help navigate ski ballet choreography, both available to rent at the SkiBig3 Adventure Hub.

Ski ballet lessons are available for a limited time this spring and are expected to fill quickly. To reserve your spot, visit the SkiBig3 website and look for Ski Ballet lessons. And what's better, from April 6 until May 3 season pass holders from any resort in the world can get 50% of multi day lift tickets with Ticket to the North
